Our aim at Newton on Trent Primary School is to provide a quality education for every one of our pupils.  Enthusiastic and committed staff provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum in a happy and purposeful working environment.

We also provide extra-curricular clubs and encourage pupils to attend. We cater for a whole range of interests and activities from music, sport, languages and art.

We hope you find our website interesting and informative. For new visitors, our website has now been up and running for three years and has recently been redesigned and we continually update many aspects of the site.  For returning friends to the site we hope you enjoy your visit and learn something new about our school each time you log in.

Ofsted comments:

The inspector agrees with the school that the development and well-being of pupils is good.  Pupils enjoy school and think it is fun.  They are well behaved, friendly, and polite with high self-esteem.  Pupils listen attentively and work hard.  All this prepares them well for the next stage of their education and their role as members of the community.

Ofsted also comments:

Pupils make good progress in the Foundation Stage and KS2.  The school sets its pupils challenging targets which most of them are able to reach.

Section 48 Inspection of Anglican Schools comments:

“There is a very happy and welcoming atmosphere and pupils feel valued and secure.   Pupils of all ages are secure in the knowledge that they count as individuals and their particular needs are identified and well managed”.
