Friends of the School
Welcome to the Friends of Newton on Trent section of the school's website. We hope you find the information you want, but if you think we have missed out anything, or you have any comments we'd like to hear from you.
The Friends of Newton on Trent Primary school is an informal Parent Teachers Association (PTA) who work with The Headteacher to arrange fundraising activities throughout the school year. The funds that are raised are used to purchase items which will benefit the children, teachers and school. For example shared expenses of a water cooler and canopy, story sacks etc.
We are always looking for new parents to join and are very grateful for help at events and new ideas for activities. We meet once per term during the evenings. Our aims and objectives are as follows:
Aim:
- To support the school, students and parents/carers in creating the best possible educational environment
Objectives:
- To give support at school events
- To undertake fundraising to improve school resources
- To organise social events
- To provide feedback from parents to improve the working of the school
How you can help
- Join the PTA committee. New members are always welcome
- Help to organise and promote events
- Practical help - serving refreshments at school functions such as concerts, discos; helping to run stalls etc
- Help to feedback ideas on school practice e.g at Parent Evenings
- Provide prizes for raffles
- Buy tickets and come to PTA and school events
- Contribute ideas for fundraising
- Come to the AGM
